METRO WEST DAILY NEWS
"The resulting album rocks out..."Inside the Glass Eye” ... is a timeless piece of psychedelia... the music ranges from the guitar-driven “ ‘Til Death Do Us Part” to the vocal harmony-drenched “Promises to Keep.” - Ed Symkus
WE WRITE ABOUT MUSIC
"This is one of the most cohesive sounding records that come across our path in quite a while. Specifically the album opener “Another Quick One”, “Next Half Life”, “You Don’t Know”, and the slightly psychedelic closer “Inside the Glass Eye”. All fantastic songs that deserve your close attention." - Austin Sher
MEET THE BAND!
The Six Corners
THE TEAR DOWNS blend power pop, indie, and rock music with influences ringing true as familiarly woven textures to form their expanding palette—new energy you can claim as your own. If you get the chance, catch their live band experience up close, front and center.
Jason’s musical history began in Portland OR and continued in Amherst MA with close friend and bandmate Elliott Smith. Jason brings soulful vocals, piano, and organ to the band.
Left- handed drummers do approach things differently. Mike's unique percussiveness and lyrics mark his influence out of the gate on the band's first major release.
This mysterious and rarely photographed figure at the back is a versatile musician who anchors the bottom line with energized groove-setting. Playing bass for over 30 years after training in piano and clarinet, his rhythmic dynamics swing wide for the Tear Downs. Just don’t say “Coldplay.”
A MUSICAL COLLABORATION
Sum of Talented Parts
Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter
Grizzled and battle-hardened veteran of the Boston music scene, Dan's guitar soundscaping and knob-twiddling seeps light and shade into the band's sound. An enthusiastic, omnivorous musician and songwriter, he is simultaneously obsessed with lo-fi, prog, punk, electronic music and Fab4- esque lyrical harmonies.
Alan, founder of the group, plays the gritty, lunch pail axe-grinder whose dry wit and straight-ahead playing draws a line in the sand, daring bandmembers to cross. The results can be heard on cuts “Another Quick One” and “You Don't Know.”
Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter
Steve's spark ignites the engine, emoting energy into the band’s dynamic. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, writer, and performer, Steve's excitability and storytelling breathes life into studio releases and live performance.
